LaneOne Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 9, 2026 Last Updated: July 9, 2026
LaneOne LLC ("LaneOne," "we," "us," or "our") operates the LaneOne mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the App and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
- Email address
- Name or display name
- Encrypted password (managed by Supabase Auth), if you sign up with email and password
- If you sign in with Apple or Google, the basic profile information (such as name and email address) that you authorize that provider to share with us
1.2 Profile and Athletic Information
- Date of birth and age
- Height and body weight
- Track and field event(s) and experience level
- Training goals, goal race details, and competition schedule
- Equipment availability and training frequency preferences
- Dietary preferences and restrictions
- Activity level
1.3 Health and Fitness Data
We collect the following health and fitness information that you provide directly through the App:
- Training session logs (exercises, distances, times, sets, reps)
- Rate of perceived exertion (RPE) and energy level ratings
- Post-session feelings and completion status
- Wellness check-in data: sleep quality, mood, muscle soreness, stress levels, and hydration intake
- Body weight logs
- Competition results and personal records
- Illness indicators and training notes
- Messages you send to Coach One (our in-app AI coaching chat) and the resulting conversation history
1.4 Nutrition Data
- Meal photos and food descriptions submitted for analysis via our meal scanning feature
- Macro and calorie logs
- Meal history and nutritional goal data
1.5 Device and Technical Information
- Expo push notification token (used solely for delivering in-app notifications)
- Device type and operating system
- IP address (collected by our backend infrastructure on each connection)
- App usage patterns and feature interaction data (e.g., which screens are visited)
- Crash and diagnostic data generated when the App encounters an error
2. How We Collect Your Information
- Directly from you: When you create an account, complete onboarding, log training sessions, submit wellness check-ins, scan meals, or chat with Coach One.
- Automatically: Usage data, crash data, and technical information are collected when you interact with the App.
- From third-party platforms: If you use Apple or Google sign-in, we receive the basic profile information you authorize. Our payment processor (RevenueCat) confirms your subscription status; Apple and Google confirm in-app purchase transactions. We do not receive your full payment card information from any platform.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Providing the Services: Creating and managing your account; generating personalized training plans, coaching insights, and nutrition advice.
- AI-Powered Features: Sending your Coach One chat messages — along with a snapshot of your LaneOne data (profile, training plan and recent sessions, Form Score, wellness check-ins, nutrition, and race results) — and your meal-scan photos and descriptions to third-party AI providers to generate personalized recommendations (see Section 5). Your training plans, weekly adaptations, and Form Score are generated by our own algorithms rather than by AI, but the resulting data is shared with the AI provider as context when you use Coach One.
- Push Notifications: Sending training reminders, weekly summaries, and app updates using your push notification token.
- Subscription Management: Processing payments and managing your LaneOne Pro subscription through RevenueCat, Apple, and Google.
- App Improvement: Analyzing usage and crash data to improve features, fix bugs, and enhance the user experience.
- Legal Compliance: Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and platform requirements.
- Communication: Sending account-related emails, policy update notices, and support responses.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for third-party advertising.
4. Health Data — Special Handling
LaneOne collects health and fitness data, including wellness check-ins and body weight. We treat this data as sensitive and apply the following restrictions:
- Health data is used only to provide you with training plans, coaching insights, and related features within the App.
- Health data is not disclosed to third parties for marketing, advertising, or data brokerage.
- Health data sent to AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) is transmitted solely to generate your personalized recommendations and is subject to those providers' data processing terms.
- We do not access Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, or any wearable device platform. Health data in LaneOne is only what you manually enter or log.
5. AI-Powered Features and Third-Party AI Providers
LaneOne uses third-party artificial intelligence services to power two features. Each feature uses a primary AI provider and may fall back to the secondary provider if the primary is unavailable, which means the data below may be processed by either provider:
| Feature | AI Providers | Data Transmitted |
|---|---|---|
| Coach One chat (including training and nutrition questions) | Anthropic (Claude) — primary; OpenAI (GPT-4o) — fallback | Your chat messages plus a snapshot of your LaneOne data — profile, training plan and recent sessions, Form Score (and its components), wellness check-ins, nutrition, and race results |
| Meal scanning (photo and text analysis) | OpenAI (GPT-4o) — primary; Anthropic (Claude) — fallback | Meal photos and food descriptions |
What is generated by AI vs. by LaneOne: Your training plans, weekly plan adaptations, and Form Score are generated by LaneOne's own algorithms, not by a third-party AI. However, because Coach One answers questions about your own data, when you use it we send the AI provider a snapshot of that data — including your plan, sessions, and Form Score — as context. Outside of the two features above, we do not send your data to any third-party AI provider.
Data transmitted to AI providers is used only to generate your in-app recommendations and is processed under those providers' respective data processing agreements. LaneOne does not authorize Anthropic or OpenAI to use your personal data to train their public AI models.
AI Disclaimer: AI-generated training plans, coaching insights, and nutrition advice are for informational and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for guidance from a qualified coach, physician, or registered dietitian. See our Terms of Service for the full Health Disclaimer.
6. Future Use of Data for AI Improvement
LaneOne may in the future use aggregated or de-identified user data to train, evaluate, or improve LaneOne's own proprietary AI systems and models. This means:
- What we may use: De-identified or aggregated training, wellness, and usage data that cannot reasonably be linked back to you as an individual.
- What we will never use for AI training without explicit consent: Your name, email address, identifiable health records, or any data that could identify you.
- When this happens: We will update this Privacy Policy before implementing any such use and will notify you by email and in-app notice.
- Your right to opt out: When this feature is implemented, you will be provided with a clear mechanism to opt out of having your data used for AI training purposes. Opting out will not affect your access to the Services.
